The Kool Morning Show starts you off every weekday with Music, Laughter, News, Weather, Community Events, and Conversations with people in and around your community. You also get the CRUZERS Birthday Caravan, the SOPHIE'S CAFE & BISTRO Star of the Day, Darel's Bakery Trivia, the Beatles Break, NCN News at the top of the hour, the AG Reports, and COMMUNITY CONNECTION with SUZANNE KING every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning on the show.
Glasgow Hicks, "The Glassman" in a past life was heard on some of the most popular radio stations in Wilmington, along with stints on stations in Jacksonville, as well as stations in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Most recently for almost 10 years the Glassman hosted the popular syndicated CHANNEL ONE RADIO SHOW heard on close to a hundred AM, FM, and Internet radio stations across the globe worldwide.
Although Cindy Lou is new to broadcast radio, she is bound and determined to keep the Glassman focused and on track every weekday morning. She's a brave ambitious woman and we wish her the best of luck.

Jeff is originally from the New York State Finger Lakes Region and he started his broadcast career in the mid 80's on a pair of local AM & FM Broadcast Stations not far from his hometown.
After working stints on AM & FM stations in Bath, Elmira, Corning, and Hornell NY, Jeff left over the air broadcast radio and jumped head first into Internet Radio on the newly launched Rock Hard Radio where for over 10 years Jeff hosted a daily radio show mixed with music and conversation that was syndicated and heard live every weekday on close to 50 radio stations in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and South Africa.
Newly relocated to NC with his wife Denice and their fur children, Jeff is the new midday voice the on the new KOOL 103.9 FM. Every weekday you Get Great Music, News, Commentary, Interviews, and General Stupidity on The Lunch Show w/ JEFF ALLEN!
COMMUNITY CONNECTION and it's longtime Host SUZANNE KING can be heard every Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday during the 8am Hour on the KOOL 103.9 FM Morning Show with The Glassman & Cindy Lou.
I'm just a part-time guy, so you'll hear me, but not as much as the others.

The first license for 1540 AM WTXY was granted to original owner Greg Singletary of Waccamaw Broadcasting Company on November 17th 1978 with the original call letters WOOZ.
On Dec. 31st 1979 The station changed its call letters to WTXY.
In 1980 the radio station was sold to Tom Stanley of Stanley Broadcasting, Inc. who broadcasted to the Whiteville community and Columbus County until he sold it to Jeff Millikin of Millikin Broadcasting on March 14th 2007. The station was immediately put up for sale and was purchased by Rob Kendall as WTXY Radio, LLC on August 6, 2008.
On March 15th 2018 and application for an FM Frequency was filed and accepted by the FCC.
On July 16th 2018 the application for the FM Signal W280FO 103.9 was approved by the FCC allowing it to simulcast WTXY 1540 AM's daily programming with 24 Hour coverage.
On August 1st 2019 AudioTraxx Media Partners LLC led by Jeff Allen Jones and Glasgow Hicks entered into a Time Brokerage Agreement with WTXY Radio, LLC and they flipped the format to 80's & 90's Classic Hits as KOOL 103.9 FM.
On August 21st 2019 an application was submitted by AudioTraxx Media Partners LLC to purchase the station from WTXY LLC was accepted for filing by the FCC. Approval of the transfer by the FCC is expected in early 2020.
While maintaining the original broadcast studios on Virgil Street, now WTXY - KOOL 103.9 FM is now Broadcasting from the new storefront window studios located at 1015-1017 South Madison street in Whiteville. When you see us in there honk and wave when you drive by.
New studio upgrades will be completed soon, and we are working on getting our FM Antenna on a higher tower so we can cover a wider broadcast area for our listeners. This upgrade will require FCC approval as well.
